Abstract
Abstract: Heterogeneous NURBS Volume Parametric Model is attached importance for its ability to express the Information of materials continuously. But there is scarce study on the slicing algorithm of heterogeneous NURBS volume parametric model for rapid prototyping yet. A slicing algorithm for heterogeneous NURBS volume parametric model was proposed. The materials were expressed by putting the material information on control points and display different color to represent different materials. The model was divided into patches by iso-line. Find out the patches which intersect with the given cutting plane, then get the sections of the meshes containing material information. The results show that slicing algorithm for heterogeneous NURBS volume parametric model can get the section with material information effectively, and provide technical support for rapid prototyping of parametric products.
