Abstract
Abstract: A new method that can rapidly synthesize the compact distribution of diverse types of elements is proposed to realize the simulation of mosaic. The Voronoi diagram is adoptedto segment the distribution region, and each part represents a space occupied by a graphic element to realize the compact distribution of graphic elements. In the process of generating Voronoi diagram, five different distance metrics are used to control the shape of the Voronoi polygon for achieving the compact distribution of the five different shapes. The method can generate graphic element distribution with scale and direction variations so as to simulate the variations of the mosaic. It also improves the synthesis rate with the help of GPU. The results show that the method enjoys good synthesis effects, while the synthesis efficiency can reach the interaction.
